    On-The-Spot Interventions

Targeted for an audience of teachers and site leaders who have traditionally been trained to provide intervention to students when their academic performance reveals gaps in their understanding or, in some cases, signs of delayed learning. This workshop challenges this conventional approach by encouraging educators to shift their perspective from intervention as a remedial measure to intervention as an on-the-spot, context-based support mechanism integrated into Tier I core academic instruction.

This paradigm shift emphasizes a proactive approach to supporting student learning, where intervention is not solely reserved for students who are falling behind, but is instead viewed as a flexible and responsive tool that can be used to support all learners within the context of the core curriculum.

The workshop will provide a platform for teachers to share their existing intervention strategies and expand their repertoire with strategies that align with a Universal Design for Learning (UDL) framework. UDL promotes a flexible learning environment where information is presented in multiple ways, students are offered various ways to engage with the material, and they are provided with multiple means of demonstrating their learning.

By embracing a UDL approach and integrating on-the-spot intervention into their teaching practice, educators can create a more inclusive and supportive learning environment that meets the diverse needs of all students.

Establishing a Tiered Approach for New Teacher Induction.

This service provides for a systems analysis and needs assessment for district’s looking to increase retention of new teachers.  As a part of this service, we assist districts in establishing a structured 3-year system to support the growth and development of new teachers.  We know that teachers in their first 3 years struggle to keep up with the demands and expectations, often leading to lower retention rates.  By using a tiered approach, district’s can provide ongoing support and training to teachers new to the classroom with the end goal of retaining a greater percentage of teachers in their first 3-5 years. Within the context of each year, new teachers are offered specific ongoing professional learning relevant to: classroom management, planning interactive and rigorous lessons, planning differentiated and scaffolded lessons, integrating technology, etc.

In addition to instructional pedagogy, this service provides considerations and planning for districts to identify funding streams to support the systemic sustainability of this critical structure.

This option can be provided in a hybrid model with in-person sessions at starting at $1500 per session, and virtually at $250 per 1-hr session.
